We follow the Basset Hound Club of America's Health Policy and test for glaucoma (POAG), thrombopathia, Lafora and MSP1. The results of the testing are below
Please note: Chondrodystrophy (Chondrodysplasia) simply means having shortened legs which is normal for a basset. Many will be a carrier or affected by invertabrate disk disease because of their structure. It is a must that weight is closely monitred to help lessen the risk for any back issues.
